Application Engineer - Automotive Chassis (m/f/d)

The company develops and manufactures a wide range of bearing products for automotive and industrial applications and is committed to providing its customers with first-class high-performance bearings. 

C&U Europe, a subsidiary of the C&U Group, has been active in the European market since 2012 and opened a Technology Center in Germany end of 2019.

For the Technology Center based in Schweinfurt (Bavaria) we are looking for an Application Engineer (m/f/d) with immediate effect to strengthen our automotive team. 

• Communicate directly with customers in conjunction with sales to understand customer needs and identify opportunities for improved application performance
• Provide ongoing technical assistance to the customer during the various product cycle phases; concept, design, development, launch and field operations
• Convert customer requirements into reliable solutions. Understand performance requirements, compare potential solutions and deliver technical proposals that meet customer needs
• Provide technical knowledge and analytical support to the manufacturing operations and other engineering units like R&D, PD, PE
• Technical communication and relationship management, internally as well as externally 
• Responsible for bearing layout and according to application needs proposes design specifications
• Perform bearing calculations with specific software 
• Evaluation and optimization of bearing systems
• Conduct risk assessments (FMEA); Perform bearing investigations (RCFA)

• Bachelor or Master Degree (i.e. mechanical engineering, automotive engineering) 
• First experiences in the specific role
• Proficient with the MS office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong mechanical design skills, including experience in tribology
• Personality traits that include integrity, empathy and a can-do attitude 
• Willing to work independently and be a self-starter 
• Solid communication skills (both written/verbal) in German and English 
• Willingness to travel
